Weather

We'll get a break from the storms today... but... like Schwarzenegger, they'll be back. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are likely to include at least a few rumbles of thunder.

THURSDAY: partly cloudy, a beautiful day, high 83.
THURSDAY NIGHT: partly cloudy, not as muggy, low 65.
FRIDAY: partly cloudy, humid again, pop-up showers and storms in the afternoon and evening, high 85.
SATURAY: showers and thunderstorms, high 82.
SUNDAY: mostly cloudy, cooler, sctd. showers and storms, high 72.

The tail of a weak cold front passed through Ohio during the overnight hours. By 3am, it was sitting right over Columbus and continuing to move eastward. Behind it, during the day Thursday, high pressure briefly will build into the region. We'll enjoy a partly-cloudy sky and some relatively calm conditions during its visit.

Then it changes again on Friday. A low-pressure center will approach from the west. Before it gets here, we'll get a batch of warm, humid air from the south and southwest. Combined with some afternoon sunshine, we have the recipe for some pop-up storms again. Thankfully, it doesn't seem that they'll have the support to become severe. Just garden-wetters with some thunder.

We're still on target for Saturday with the cold front finally making it into the state. Showers and thunderstorms are likely (again) along the boundary. The jet stream alignment is still slightly out of phase which means we're less likely to conjure up any severe storms. If you have outdoor activities planned for Saturday, it might be a good idea to have an indoor backup plan. Keep an eye on the forecast for updates.
