Arrests Made after Fatal Sunoco Gas Station Shooting

COLUMBUS (Kate Liebers) -- Two suspects were arrested Thursday in connection to a fatal shooting at a Sunoco gas station at 849 E. 5th Ave. in Columbus.

Michael Watson, 20, and a 15-year-old boy were arrested while inside 1091 Walters St.

The two are allegedly responsible for the death of 26-year-old Marvin Ector. Ector and Darnelle Gammon, 31, were reportedly shot around 6 p.m. Dec. 23 while sitting in a car at the gas station.

Ector was pronounced dead at the scene; Gammon survived his injuries.

Police had identified Watson and the 15-year-old as suspects and, on Jan. 3, the two were charged with one count of murder.

After the arrest, Watson was transported to the Franklin County Jail and the juvenile was taken to the Franklin County Court of Domestic Relations to await arraignment.
