Ohio State Campus Construction Continues on Lane Avenue
COLUMBUS (Andrew Michael/Kate Liebers) -- Construction crews have started work on the corner of Lane Avenue and High Street, and will likely be there until 2016.
The project entails tearing down 11 Ohio State University buildings and building 11 larger ones. The new dorms will have an additional 3,200 beds to accommodate second-year students, who will be required to live on campus.
University officials said they had success with the students' first-year experience and wanted to extend that to sophomores.
Many of the students ABC 6/FOX 28 interviewed said they were split on the requirement to stay on campus a second year.
The expected completion date is fall of 2016.
