Robbery Suspects Caught on SE Columbus Store Surveillance Footage

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Police hope the release of surveillance footage of an armed robbery at a Southeast Side store will lead to the identification of two suspects.

The robbers stole an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise while brandishing handguns inside Family Dollar at 3200 Brice Road on Monday at approximately 9:55 p.m.

The robbery occurred just minutes after one of the suspects left the store following a discussion with a clerk about watch batteries. The unidentified man returned with a masked accomplice, at which time the men displayed guns and robbed the store.

Both suspects fled the scene of the robbery in a red or burgundy sedan -- possibly a Ford Taurus -- that contained two additional passengers.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

The first suspect is described as African-American, 5'6" tall and 140 lbs. He wore a gray and red baseball cap while committing the crime.

The second suspect is described as 5'10" tall and 150-160 lbs. He wore a black hoodie and a blue bandana over his face while inside the store.

Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to contact the Columbus Division of Police at 614-645-4545.
