Coach Accused of Having Sex With Teen Released From Jail

MARION (Ken Hines) -- A Marion county track coach, accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage student, posted bond late Valentine's Day and was released from jail.

A Marion County judge set a bail amount of $20,000 for Elgin Local Schools cross country and track coach Martina Stanley, who was arrested on Thursday amid an investigation into allegations that she had sex with a 17-year-old student on multiple occasions.

The student's father called ABC 6/FOX 28 on Thursday, and claimed his son and Stanley, 35, repeatedly met at night to have sex in the coach's car. The father also said his son -- who has not been publicly identified -- kept nude pictures of Stanley on his phone.

Stanley -- who did not coach the student with whom she allegedly had sex -- is charged with a felony count of sexual battery. Investigators do not believe any illegal encounters involving Stanley and the student took place on school grounds.

Stanley has asked for a court-appointed attorney, claiming she lacks the means to hire one herself.
