Mount Vernon Police: Missing Teens Found in Conn.

MOUNT VERNON (Kate Liebers) -- Two teenagers reported missing were found in Connecticut and taken into protective custody, according to the Mount Vernon Police Department.

Branden Gamble, 16, and Kayla Scarbury, 14 had been missing since Monday morning before officers found them Wednesday evening, according to MVPD. The teens were inside Branden's broken-down pickup truck along Interstate 95 near the Connecticut-Rhode Island border, officers said.

MVPD had suspected the couple might be traveling through the area of Stonington, Conn. and law enforcement in that area was contacted.

The teens were apprehended without incident and were to be held in Connecticut until picked up by their respective families.
