Columbus City Schools Closed Thursday Side Streets & Sidewalks Too Dangerous

COLUMBUS (Tara Morgan) -- Columbus City Schools cancels classes a second time this week to keep children off dangerous neighborhood streets and sidewalks.

Columbus made the call late Wednesday night to cancel classes Thursday at all city schools.

Drivers know all too well the conditions of the neighborhood roads.

"Once you get to the freeway you're fine but that's if you can make it there," said Ariel Morrison who lives in the Short North.

She spent an hour Wednesday morning just getting out of her street parking space only to return home needing three people to get back in.

"Definitely start out at least four hours early to dig out and next year get four wheel drive," said Morrison.

Many sidewalks are also not cleared and free of snow.
