Caseworker Charged with Downloading, Sharing Child Porn
COLUMBUS (Lisa Rantala) -- A central Ohio caseworker contracted by Franklin County Children Services is off the job amid accusations that he downloaded child pornography on his home computer.
Nathan Fassnacht, 32, has been working as a family support specialist with Buckeye Ranch since 2012. Prosecutors say the agency is contracted by Franklin County, serves 3,000 children a year and Fassnacht meets with those children and their families nearly every day.
Deputies arrested Fassnacht Thursday charging him with sharing and downloading child pornography to his home computer in Hilliard. When removing the computer from his home this month, prosecutors say detectives found more than 200 videos.
Buckeye Ranch suspended Fassnacht, alerted Children Services and is now conducting an internal investigation. However, they don't believe any wrongdoing was committed at Fassnacht's office on Broad Street, just east of downtown.
