Union Co. Father and Son Accused of Robbery Spree

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Police have arrested a man accused of partnering with his son to rob several homes and businesses in at least three counties.

A Grand Jury has indicted Charles and Brandon Huff on dozens of charges related to robberies in Dublin, Grove City, and Upper Arlington in Franklin County, as well as similar crimes in Delaware and Union Counties.

Police arrested Charles Huff, 46, on Wednesday and subsequently transported him to the Tri County Regional Jail, where he joined his son Brandon, 21, who was arrested a month earlier in connection with a robbery in Marysville.

The Huffs were arrested amid an investigation into their alleged crimes that began in December, 2013, and grew to include members of six law enforcement agencies.

The majority of the robberies attributed to the Huffs occurred at vacant homes, where the father and son would allegedly steal tools, copper wiring, and plumbing and construction equipment.

Investigators estimate the value of the items stolen during these robberies to be $30,000.

Authorities also believe the Huffs may be responsible for additional crimes not covered in the indictments.

"We suspect they are responsible for many more thefts and break-ins in the three-county area, but we don't currently have the evidence to place them at other crime scenes," Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton said.

Charles and Brandon Huff are each charged with breaking-and-entering, theft, receiving stolen property, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. They are scheduled to be arraigned in Union County Court on March 7.
