Chillicothe Hotels Fill Up During Snow Storm

CHILLICOTHE (Ashley Yore/Kate Liebers) -- The snow storm Tuesday night pushed some motorists off the roads and into hotels.

One stranded traveler said buying a room seemed safer than taking the two-hour drive home from Chillicothe.

"The snow is just coming down so hard that the roads were covered as soon as it was hitting," Kelsey Betts said. "I was more worried about everybody else on the road....The roads are slick. You don't know what's going to happen. It was just a mess."

Many other travelers spent an unplanned night in Chillicothe. There, nearly all the hotel rooms sold out.

Betts said she was glad she stopped when she did.

"I feel like if we would've waited any longer, we would have just had to keep going," she said. "There would've been nowhere to pull over to stop."

Betts said she was looking forward to safe travels the next day.
