Police Apprehend 2 Robbery Suspects After Delaware Co. Chase

DELAWARE COUNTY (Kelsey Mallahan) -- Police apprehended two robbery suspects Tuesday afternoon after a chase that closed a major state route for over an hour.

Scott Thomas and a second suspect, who has not been identified, were spotted in a stolen car by police around 12:00 p.m. at Walmart at 8659 Columbus Pike. When police attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver didnt stop. Authorities used stop sticks, forcing the vehicle into the median of U.S. 23 near Ohio Health Blvd. The suspects were then arrested without incident.

Authorities said the duo could possibly be linked to a weekend robbery at Huntington Bank in Lewis Center, a CVS robbery on Monday in Delaware County and another pharmacy robbery in Columbus. They are also linked to two stolen vehicles.

Police found a firearm in the car the suspects were driving.

An officer is under review after firing his weapon during the pursuit.
