Police Investigate Possible Homicide at E. Columbus Home
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Police plan to search an East Side home in an effort to determine if a man who was initially reported to have suffered a heart attack was actually murdered.
The deceased man was pronounced dead at a central Ohio hospital at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday after he was transported by paramedics from his Critchfield Road home while reportedly suffering cardiac arrest.
Medical workers soon informed police they had reason to believe a fight or argument had occurred at the Critchfield Road home prior to the man's death.
Police have not confirmed or denied the existence of visible injuries on the man's body, and have not released his name. Investigators have also refused to publicly disclose the reason paramedics believe an altercation occurred at the home.
Detectives were waiting for a search warrant as of 8 a.m. Wednesday in order to gather evidence from the Critchfield Road home.
