Suspected Serial Bank Robbers Linked Together
COLUMBUS (Terri Sullivan) -- New information revealed in a Franklin County Courtroom about an accused serial bank robber.
Turns out he may have had a co-hort in crime, and their ties might go even deeper than that.
Jonathan Slater, 26, waived his appearance in a Columbus courtroom Tuesday.
He's being held on a $50 thousand bond, charged with robbing the Arlington Bank in the Tremont Center in December.
Detectives say Slater played a role in the robbery, where the suspect handed the teller a note and demanded cash.
Investigators are now linking him to more bank robberies, including one in Grove City earlier this month.
Police say the West Columbus address he gave is the same as another suspected serial bank robber.
We told you last week how Grove City police arrested Michael Hay at the Franklinton area home Feb. 7, charging him with robbing the Key Bank in Grove City.
Police believe Hay also had a role in the Tremont Center robbery, along with other bank robberies in Bexley, Dayton and Cincinnati.
Investigators also revealed in court that Hay had been dating Slater's sister, who is not charged.
ABC 6 went to the house where both men said they lived, but the people there said they didn't know anybody by those names.
