Police Follow Blood Trail to Find Victim of Victorian Village Fight

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- A trail of blood led police to a man who was injured in a fight in the Victorian Village area, and now investigators are trying to identify the circumstances surrounding the violent altercation.

Police followed the blood trail from the scene of the fight near the intersection of W. 2nd and Pennsylvania Avenues to the location of the injured man two blocks away.

Paramedics treated the victim in an ambulance before transporting him to OSU's Wexner Medical Center. Police have not released details about the man's injuries, or his condition.

Police traveled to the area of the altercation after witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the vicinity. Investigators believe someone fired the shots into the air to break up the fight.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Police will likely speak with the injured man in an attempt to identify the other participants in the fight.
