Columbus Food Trucks Close in on Hollywood Casino
COLUMBUS (Terri Sullivan) -- A West Columbus businessman said he hopes people will bite at his idea for a gourmet food park near the Hollywood Casino.
Chris Haydocy said if he builds it, diners will come.
His Land Yacht is tucked inside a vintage Air Stream travel trailer, complete with Las Vegas style marquee. It is also parked right across the street from the Hollywood Casino.
"There's been a market study or two that points to a clear need for restaurants," Haydocy said. "There hasn't been an influx of restaurants coming in. We had some property available here so we decided take the bull by the horn and open up a gourmet food park."
The auto dealer is hoping the casino crowd will gorge at his future gourmet food park.
"We're going to have picnic tables, a little four-season room and we're going to serve the best gourmet food available," he said.
The Haydocy team has been taste-testing for the past two months.
"We may not be the best sales team in the city of Columbus, but we are but we sure are the best fed," Haydocy said with a laugh.
The public should be able to dig in this March.
