Gahanna Woman Allegedly Shoots Boyfriend in Chest

GAHANNA (Ken Hines) -- A woman has been charged with felonious assault after allegedly shooting her boyfriend during an altercation at her home late Tuesday night.

Gahanna police officers arrested Emily Jacobs at her Quaker Ridge Drive home after finding Matthew Berry on the ground outside the house with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers rushed to the home after receiving several 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area. One of the callers, who identified herself as Jacobs's mother, told police her daughter had shot her boyfriend.

Medics transported Berry, 26, to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where he is listed in critical but stable condition. Jacobs, 24, is being held at the Franklin County Jail as she awaits a bond hearing.

Investigators have note released information about possible motives for the shooting.
