Police Rule NE Columbus Man Stabbed Roommate in Self-Defense

COLUMBUS (Camille Doty) -- Police will not press charges against the man who admitted to stabbing his roommate on the 1700 block of Weber Road.

They rule Jack Hairston acted in self-defense.

Officers say they found William Justis around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday while they were responding to a domestic disturbance. He was pronounced dead by medics at 1:55 a.m.

Police say he died from a stab wound to the upper body.

Hairston told police he stabbed Justis to protect himself during a fight.

This case will be forwarded to the Franklin County Prosecutors Office for review.
