Hilliard Officer Resigns During Sexual Misconduct Investigation
COLUMBUS (Kate Liebers) -- An officer accused of engaging in sexual misconduct resigned Thursday, the Hilliard Division of Police announced.
David M. Burck, a 10-year employee of the Hilliard Division, had been on administrative leave since Oct. 24 pending the outcome of an internal investigation. He had been accused of engaging in inappropriate conduct while on duty.
During the investigation, Burck admitted the indiscretion to agency investigators and stepped down from his position at Hilliard, the division stated in a release.
Per his resignation, the division stopped the investigation.
"Any administrative findings are now considered moot," according to the release.
What investigators found before Burck's resignation "did not lead to sufficient findings to warrant any criminal charges in this case."
