Cities Around Central Ohio Open Warming Centers as Temps Drop

COLUMBUS -- As temperatures dropped around central Ohio on Monday, many cities opened warming centers for residents.

Below is a list of the latest centers open, check back for updates:

COLUMBUS:
Residents can stay warm by visiting the following Columbus Recreation and Parks community facilities open to the public as warming centers during traditional operating hours:
-    Dodge, 667 Sullivant Ave.
-    Gillie, 4625 Morse Centre
-    Martin Janis, 600 E. 11th Ave
-    Lazelle Woods, 8140 Sancus
-    Marion Franklin, 2801 Lockbourne
-    Whetstone, 3923 N. High Street

Seniors who require additional assistance are encouraged to contact the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging at 614-645-7250 or Life Care Alliance at 614-278-3130.

WHITEHALL:
Residents can visit the Whitehall Senior Center, located at 4924 Etna Road for heating assistance. The center is being opened because of a power outage west of Beechwood Road. The power is expected to be restored around noon.

DELAWARE:
Residents can visit Mingo Park facility at 500 E Lincoln Ave. for heating assistance.
