Teen Among Victims of South Columbus Triple Shooting

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Police have confirmed that a teen was among the victims of a Thursday evening shooting that left one person dead and two others in critical condition.

Investigators announced Friday that a 17-year-old girl was one of the victims of the shooting, which occurred on Harland Drive at approximately 6:30 p.m. That teen and another victim are receiving treatment for critical injuries at Grant Medical Center.

A third person was found dead inside a car, according to police. The names of the victims have not been released.

Witnesses reported hearing at least five gunshots before police arrived at the scene.

"Typically it is not a bad neighborhood. It is usually really quiet," area resident Sakoya Pia said. "For this to be going on is like, 'Who moved in?'"

Investigators believe the shooting was drug-related. Anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to contact the Columbus Division of Police at 614-645-4545.
