Home Day Care Providers Bracing for Busy Day with School Canceled

COLUMBUS (Tara Morgan) -- Day care providers are gearing up for a busy day as bitter cold temperatures force schools to cancel classes.

Angela Crockett and her mom run Hope's For Tomorrow out of their homes.

They pick up children so they don't have to walk to after school day care in the cold.

Playtime is limited to the indoors.

"It's too cold for them to be outside so they've kind of been cooped up," said Crockett.

Crockett says it has to be 40 degrees or higher for children to be able to play outside.

"I'm prepared to feed the few day care kid I have in the day time but not all the extras that will be home from school  so we have to go to the grocery store," said Crockett.

Crockett says she's had to get creative with games to keep her children busy.
