Ohio AAA Respond to Flood of Weather-Related Car Problems
COLUMBUS -- The extreme cold sucked the life out of thousands of cars, keeping AAA employees especially busy on Monday.
"On a day like today we're probably going to see toward 1,800 to 2,000 (service calls), I'd imagine," said Dave England, a battery specialist for AAA.
He said that the cold can cause, among other problems, a car's battery to die.
Car batteries typically last three to five years. After that, the extreme cold can shorten the lifespan, England said.
"Put a new one in. It'll save you a lot of headaches," he said.
