Police Arrest Teens in Downtown Columbus After Car Chase

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Two teens are in police custody after a Friday morning chase that ended with an arrest inside the Columbus Convention Center.

Police used dogs to track down the young suspect inside the convention center after the teen ran from the scene of a crash that occurred on High Street in Downtown Columbus following a car chase.

The two young suspects -- aged 17 and 14 years -- were allegedly traveling in a stolen car when they sped away from a state trooper during an attempted traffic stop, according to investigators.

The chase -- which reached approximate speeds of 100 miles-per-hour -- continued on to the streets of Downtown Columbus, where the suspects eventually crashed into a street sign outside of the Martini Modern Italian restaurant.

One of the teens was arrested at the scene of the crash, while his alleged accomplice was later found hiding inside the convention center.

The teens have not yet been charged in connection with the chase, which did not result in any injuries.
