Police Remove Unidentified Body Found in Alum Creek
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Investigators with multiple police departments gathered at an East Side park on Monday after a human body was found floating in Alum Creek.
A man working on a bridge on the Alum Creek Multi-Use Trail first discovered the body in the water in Wolfe Park at approximately 10 a.m., and called police after realizing what he saw.
That worker told police the hands of the victim appeared to be tied behind his back, but investigators believe the man's hands may have been caught in his jacket.
The body was pulled from the water at approximately 12:15 p.m., at which time investigators began the identification process.
Westerville police officers also traveled to the area to attempt to determine if the body is that of James Martin, who went missing on Thursday. Martin's family members gathered in the park as officers conducted their investigation.
