Man Saves Elderly Neighbor Attacked by Suspected Robber

COLUMBUS (Tara Morgan) -- A man jumps into action to save his elderly neighbor after he heard her scream during a robbery.

73 year old Martha Reuss says she answered a knock at the door last Saturday only to find a stranger asking for another man she also didn't know and then a bottle of water.

When she passed a bottle through the door, Reuss says the man swung the door open and stormed inside her home on Rockwell Road.

"I screamed he told me not to scream he slapped me I screamed again and he knocked me down," said Reuss.

Reuss' neighbor, Butch, says he heard her screams and ran over with a gun.

Raymon Durand is charged with robbery.

"I would do it for anyone I'm a loving guy I would do it for anyone," said Butch.

Durand is in jail on $200,000 bond.
