Attempted Murder-Suicide on the Northeast Side

NORTHEAST COLUMBUS (Brooke Stromp/Chelsea Spears) -- Columbus Police are calling a shooting at 5443 Turtle Station Way an attempted murder-suicide after responding to the scene after 2:20 p.m. on Saturday.

According to witnesses, a dispute between two women ensued inside one of the units and ended outside in a parking lot.

A 54-year-old female was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The other 50-year-old female was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition with a gunshot wound as well.

Homicide detectives remain at the scene. The identities of the shooter and the victim have not been released.
