Woman Who Allegedly Hit and Killed High School Teacher Expected in Court

DELAWARE (James Jackson) -- The woman, who authorities say hit and killed a high school teacher, will soon appear in court. Mary Kathryn Paul admitted to hitting cyclist Robert Lennon, a few months ago. Paul is expected to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and hit and skip, two felonies, tomorrow.

ABC 6/FOX 28 has been keeping a close eye on this case, as it unfolds. The 36 year-old daughter of Harlem Township trustee, Jerry Paul, allegedly hit Lennon and left him to die, on Miller Paul Road, in September.

Prosecutors say she first told her father she hit a deer. They also say Jerry Paul discarded part of her windshield, then called the sheriff's office.

The coroner's report says Lennon died instantly. He was a longtime teacher and cross country coach at St. Francis DeSales.

Paul is expected to be in court tomorrow afternoon. If convicted, she could get six years behind bars.
