Columbus Prepper Applauds Stranded Family's Survival Skills

COLUMBUS (Andrew Michael) -- A Columbus survival company said a family that was stranded in sub-zero temperatures for days did everything right.

The family of six was stuck in a remote location after their Jeep flipped on Saturday. They used a tire to light a fire and heated rocks to keep the vehicle warm. They stayed on the site until crews rescused them Tuesday.

Preppers Discounters in Columbus endorsed these survival skills.

Mike Miller said the family was wise to stay in the vehicle and let the rescue crews find them. He also said that a survival kit, especially for people stuck in a remote location, is very important.

A kit that would allow for a family of six to survive for the two days in the harsh conditions would cost less than $75.
