Hunter Dies from Apparently Accidental Gunshot Wound

COLUMBUS (Kate Liebers) -- A 63-year-old hunter was found dead in his tree stand Monday morning from what police have described as an accidental gunshot wound.

Officials responded to the 28000 block of Jefferson Township Road 341, where the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Coshocton County Sheriff's Office would not confirm whether the wound was self-inflicted.

CCSO and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources are continuing a joint investigation.

The Walhonding Valley Fire Department and Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services assisted.
