Unseasonal Snow Surprises Columbus
COLUMBUS (Andrew Michael) -- With the unseasonable recent snowfalls, it is difficult to believe that winter does not officially begin for another week and a half.
The storms seem to be arriving earlier and hitting harder than in years past.
This November, Columbus saw five times the average snowfall. Only 10 days into December, 8.5 inches of snow has fallen -- more than the monthly average of 5.2 inches.
For the entire winter, Columbus averages a snowfall of 27.6 inches; so far, the city has received 13.7 inches.
Essentially, the capital city has already seen nearly half of the entire season's average snowfall before winter officially begins on December 21.
So, if you don't have a snow-blower, it might not be a bad idea to look into one.
