Police Bust Gahanna Woman for Alleged Pill Sales

GAHANNA (Ken Hines) -- A woman faces at least two years in prison after allegedly selling prescription pills in a school zone.

Gahanna police arrested Sherri Woods at her home at 319 Diven Ct. on Friday morning in connection with the suspected sale of oxycodone pills, for which Woods possessed a valid prescription.

The arrest came amid an eight month investigation into Woods's alleged criminal activities inside the home, which is located less than 1000 feet from a school. Because of that proximity, Woods faces a sentence of two to eight years in prison.

As narcotics detectives investigated Woods's alleged drug business, other Gahanna officers made several trips to her home for unrelated issues, including a December 3, 2013 incident in which Woods claimed she was struck with a gun by a burglar.

Officers also visited Woods's home because of loud noises, a car theft, and reports of suspicious vehicles in the area.

Woods is being held at the Franklin County Jail as she awaits her first court appearance, the date of which has not been released.
