Gahanna Woman Accused of Selling Prescription Drugs Near School

GAHANNA (Rob Wells) -- Gahanna SWAT investigators moved in a drug dealer they say was selling thousands of dollars of illegal prescriptions out of her home.

Police spent eight months gathering evidence before they nabbed the suspect: 50-year-old Sherry Woods.

Woods was arrested for multiple felony counts of drug trafficking and held at the Franklin County Jail.

Officers said Woods would fill her prescription for oxycodone pills then sell them illegally. Police found cash and weapons during the bust, and said two young girls were also living inside the home.

Her neighbor, Donna Gold, called police multiple times after seeing strange cars constantly driving around the area. Others reported increased pedestrian traffic to and from the house as well.

"Over the last eight months, the activity indicative of drug trafficking there really picked up," Lt. Thomas Basso said.

Gahanna's SWAT team issued a warrant for Woods' home on Diven Court Friday morning.

Woods could face eight years in jail because the deals went down within 1000 feet of a school.
