At Least One Shooter Fires on Car, Wounds 2 in SE Columbus

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Two men are recovering from gunshot wounds suffered when at least one unknown assailant opened fire on a car Thursday night on the city's Southeast Side.

Donald Griffin III and Devante Taylor were shot while sitting in a rental car on Centner Lane at approximately 11:36 p.m., according to police. Griffin suffered critical wounds, while Taylor is listed in stable condition. Both men are expected to survive.

Griffin and Taylor were each struck by multiple shots. Police have not determined the number of shooters involved in the assault.

One of the victims called 911 to report the shooting to police, but was not able to identify the shooter or shooters, according to dispatchers.

Investigators have not identified potential suspects or motives in connection with the shooting. Officers questioned two people about the crime; both have been released.
