Braking Issue Leads to Large Honda Odyssey Recall
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Honda officials have recalled hundreds-of-thousands of minivans because of a glitch that can lead to unexpected braking.
The voluntary recall affects 344,000 Odysseys manufactured during the 2007-08 model year, and involves an issue with the vans' Vehicle Stability Assist software.
The glitch can lead to a buildup of pressure in the Odysseys' braking systems during movement after an engine restart. The release of that pressure can cause sudden, unexpected braking, according to a Honda media release.
Owners of affected vehicles are advised to visit their Honda dealers for free repairs.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the braking issue.
