Friends Remember Teen Killed in Reynoldsburg

REYNOLDSBURG (Adam Aaro) -- Dozens of friends came together to remember a teenage girl police say was murdered over the weekend.

Danielle Michaels' body was discovered near Reynoldsburg High School Monday night. Tuesday night, her friends came together for a vigil held at Pine Quarry Park in Reynoldsburg. Her friends say it's a place Michaels loved to visit.

"I still just don't want to believe she's gone," said close friend Haley Walker who helped organize the event via Facebook.

"She earned her wings way too soon," Walker said. "She'll never hurt again. She'll be alright. She will look down on us and keep an eye over us."

Friends say Michaels was the kind of person who could light up a room and always was there for people in need. Friends also say she dreamed one day of being a singer.

She and I wrote some songs together over the summer and I still have them," said Carol Burgess. "And I'm going to make that CD for her."

As a fitting tribute, one person brought a guitar and sang songs to the huddled crowd.

"We are praying for her family," Burgess said. "We are praying for peace and comfort."
