NORTH COLUMBUS (Tom Bosco/Kate Liebers) Police said the murder of 23-year-old Adrian Parlette began as a drug-related robbery.

Parlettes mother, Cindy Viles, said her sons friends were supposed to pick him on the morning of June 5, 2003, when they found Parlette in a pool of blood in his living room. The back door was wide open, she said.

Police said Parlette was shot between 2 and 4 a.m.

Parlettes twin daughters were 4 years old at the time.

Columbus Police Detective Bill Gillette, who worked this case in 2003, said investigators are close to solving the crime.

For this, the Columbus Police Department has asked for the publics assistance.

"We feel that we have a pretty good idea who did this to Adrian, Gillette said. We need someone else to come forward that might have that one piece that we're looking for."

Right now, we just need a little bit more information, he said.

It is information that put a mothers and two daughters minds at ease.

It will bring some, you know, justice to my son and that is something that he deserves, Viles said.
