Muskingum Co. Judge Issues 3rd Life Sentence for Tortuous Murder
ZANESVILLE (Ken Hines) -- A judge closed a violent chapter in Muskingum County on Wednesday, handing down a third life sentence in connection with the torture and murder of a woman in 2012.
The judge sentenced Katrina Culberson to life in prison with no possibility of parole, plus an additional 11 years, for her role in the murder of Celeste Fronsman.
Investigators believe Culberson, along with accomplices LaFonse Dixon and Monica Washington, savagely beat Fronsman before setting her on fire and leaving her to die on a rural Muskingum County Road in August, 2012.
Fronsman died two days after she was found by a passerby on SR-208, where she had managed to crawl following her abandonment, according to investigators.
Culberson's sentence was identical to that of her alleged accomplice Dixon, who was convicted of Fronsman's murder in late October.
Culberson and Washington both pleaded guilty to murder, arson, and kidnapping charges; each woman testified against Dixon during his trial.
Washington also received a life sentence from a Muskingum County judge, but she could be eligible for parole in 25 years.
