Pedestrian Killed in SE Columbus; Police Seek Person of Interest
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Investigators are searching for a person of interest in connection with a crash that killed a pedestrian as she attempted to run through an intersection.
The unidentified pedestrian failed to stop at an electronic crosswalk signal at Morse Road and Cleveland Ave. in NE Columbus on Thursday night. She was struck by a Ford Fusion that entered the intersection under a green light, according to police.
Columbus Fire medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene soon after their arrival. The driver of the Ford fled the scene after the crash.
Kenneth Dunlap, 45, has been identified as a person of interest in the case, though specific details regarding his possible involvement have not been released.

Investigators are working to identify the decedent, and to determine if, as police suspect, she was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
