Woman Fakes Kidnapping and Rape
LANCASTER (Adam Aaro) -- Police say a Lancaster woman made up a story about being kidnapped and assaulted to cover up her drug use.
Monday afternoon, the 36-year-old woman, who we aren't naming because she hasn't been officially charged, claimed she was rear-ended while driving on Memorial Dr. She then said a man inside that car pulled out a knife and forced her into the car. She then says she blacked out for four hours before staggering up to a home on Goodwin Ave. and asked for help. She told police the men who kidnapped her assaulted her and stole her car and purse.
On Tuesday, detectives say her story began to unravel. She admitted to making the whole thing up to cover up her using drugs at a home near Memorial Dr. She had been driving her father's car and worried she would get into trouble, detectives say, so she made up a story to hide what she had done.
The woman is now facing charges of falsifying a police report and obstruction. She may also face drug-related charges.
