Coroner: Killer Stabbed Blendon Twp. Victim 26 Times

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- A jogger who was murdered in a central Ohio park was stabbed dozens of times by her killer, according to a preliminary autopsy.

The Franklin County Coroner's Officer report states that Jane Juergens was stabbed 26 times during the attack that ended her life. Investigators found no evidence of defensive wounds.

Police believe 16-year-old Jordan Stewart murdered Juergens, 55, after walking into a wooded area of Ridgewood Park in Blendon Township on October 21.

The murder occurred while Stewart was participating in an outing organized by employees of the group home in which he was living.

Sources close to the investigation believe Juergens may have been sexually assaulted during the attack, and are waiting on full autopsy results to confirm or deny that suspicion.
