Speed Limits Change on Certain Highways
FRANKLIN COUNTY (Jen French)Starting Sunday, people can driver faster on certain rural freeways and expressways.
Legislation was passed that allows the Ohio Department of Transportation to change the speed on 607 miles of roadway in the state. ODOT conducted traffic studies to locate highways where the speed limit could be safely increased.
The state agency will have to make 1100 new signs, costing more than $100,000. Signs are expected to be posted by October 4th.
