Bullets Crash Through Boys' Bedroom Window in N. Columbus
COLUMBUS (Terri Sullivan/Ken Hines) -- Two sleeping boys narrowly avoided injury when bullets smashed through their bedroom window.
Three bullets hit Robert Pack's Osceola Ave. home on Tuesday night as his sons (ages 9 and 7) slept in their bedroom.
Pack first believed the sound of breaking glass was the result of some type of mundane accident.
"It sounded like a big crash, like one of my kids dropped something," said Pack, who did not investigate the noise.
The true source of the disruption was discovered the following morning, when Pack's girlfriend noticed the damage in the boys' room while waking them for school.
"I'd never seen a bullet hole before, so I didn't know what that was," Mary Aneal said.
The couple called police, who found shell casings in the backyard that will soon be tested for fingerprints. Investigators believe the shooter fired from behind a fence.
