Teen Girl and Young Man Shot at Eastside Party
EAST COLUMBUS (Jen French)--A 13-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man are recovering after they were shot at a party at an eastside home.
Police have arrested 19-year-old Thomas Woodruff on two counts of felonious assault after they said he fired shots into a crowd, injuring two people.
Officers said an argument preceded the shooting outside of a home in the 700 block of South Champion Avenue around 10:30 PM Saturday. Several witnesses were at the party and told police those involved were yelling gang affiliations.
The 22-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Grant Medical Center. He is expected to survive. The 13-year-old girl was shot in the back was taken to Childrens Hospital. She is in serious condition.
ABC 6/FOX 28 spoke to a family member. She said the two victims are cousins.
Woodruff is being held at the Franklin County Jail.
