CSCC Officials Hope to Replace Parking Lots with New Buildings
COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Columbus State Community College leaders hope to improve the look and the quality of its campus by removing its parking lots.
School officials publicly unveiled a plan Thursday to replace blacktop parking lots with garages, while also using the new space to build new academic buildings.
CSCC administrators claim the proposal has the backing of civic and business leaders because of the potential benefits to the city.
"It's all based on building the best college in the country for student success, for building the workforce of this community, and for building partnerships with all of our private industry, government entities, and community organizations," CSCC VP of Marketing and Communications Will Kopp said.
School officials have not commented on possible funding sources for the project.
