Teen Charged with Murder after South Linden Shooting

COLUMBUS (Lisa Rantala/Kate Liebers) -- A teenager died and his best friend was charged with murder after the two were apparently playing with a loaded gun.

Terrico Henry, a 14-year-old ninth grader, was shot in the basement of a South Linden home on East 15th Avenue. The victim's family said it was the home of his best friend, 16-year-old Calvin Fluellen.

Police said Calvin was the one who pulled the trigger.

The chest wound proved fatal hours later at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

The person who called 911 did not reveal who shot Terrico. When asked, the caller told the dispatcher he did not see who shot the teen and also that the victim does not know who fired the bullet.

In the background, someone shouts, "Get the gun, bro. Get the gun!"

Police charged Fluellen with murder. Another 16-year-old boy, accused of hiding the gun, was charged with tampering with evidence.

Both boys faced a judge Tuesday morning and were placed under house arrest.
