Police Seek Arrests of Suspects in Murder of Popular SE Columbus Man

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Investigators believe they have identified two people responsible for the murder of a man found shot to death inside his Southeast Side apartment.

Authorities have issued arrest warrants for Derek Lamont Robinson and Melanie Dawn Spears in connection with the November 21 murder of Shaun Fullen.

Fullen, 38, was found dead inside the bathroom of his Smith Road home by his cousin, who also lived in the apartment.

Investigators have not released details regarding possible connections between Fullen and the suspects, or potential motives behind the murder.

Fullen was the son of a Columbus fire battalion chief and a Columbus police detective, and has been described by neighbors as a friendly and helpful member of the community.

"He was a good person. He didn't deserve what he got," Lakeia Williams said. "He helped everybody. He was there for everybody. He was just all-around a good guy."
