Smoke Detectors Alert Family to House Fire

REYNOLDSBURG (Kellie Hanna) -- Fire broke out in a home at 173 Hillview Drive South in Reynoldsburg overnight.

The three people and the family dog were all able to get out of the home unharmed.

Firefighters on the scene say it looks like the fire started in the basement but spread and ended up reaching the roof.

The family heard the smoke detectors going off and that's when they got out of the home.

There is a lot of damage to the home, in fact firefighters say they couldn't get inside onto the first floor because of the damage from the fire.

The American Red Cross of Central Ohio is helping the family with essential needs.
