Joe Stoll - Reporter

Joe Stoll comes to Columbus after spending three-and-a-half years as a morning show Reporter in his hometown of Toledo.  Before that, he was a weekend news anchor in Terre Haute, Ind.

Joe hit the ground running at WSYX, arriving in Columbus right after the June 2012 storms hit central Ohio and knocked out many people's power -- in some cases, it was out for a couple of weeks

Joe has won several awards for his work.  One that he's most proud of is a piece on poverty, for which he lived on the equivalent of food stamps for a week.  Joe had a little more than twenty-dollars in food money to last the entire week. The journey landed him in a couple of soup kitchens for a few of my meals that week, where conversations with some of the "regulars" truly opened his eyes to the growing problem of poverty, and how it affects all aspects of a person's life.

Here at WSYX, Joe will be working in multiple capacities to make sure you get the news that affects you and your loved ones.  Some days, you will see him reporting out in the field, and other days he'll be working hard behinds-the-scenes as an assignment editor, helping to chase down tips and leads that come into the newsroom.  Please, keep them coming.

Joe hold a bachelor's of science degree in broadcast journalism, with a minor in psychology, from Bowling Green State University.

When he's am not working on stories that impact your life, Joe can be found checking out the fabulous bike trails central Ohio has to offer, not to mention, all the delicious restaurants!

Feel free to send Joe an email anytime with a story idea, or just to say "hi".
