Adam Aaro - Anchor

Adam Aaro anchors the weekend News on ABC 6 at 6 pm and 11 pm and FOX 28 at 10pm. He joined the team in August, 2012.

Adam comes to central Ohio after spending three-and-a-half years living and working in central Oregon at KTVZ. Adam co-anchored the weekday evening newscasts and also got out in the field to report whenever possible. One of his favorite stories: there was a week-long series he shot, wrote, and edited about at-risk kids taking part in the OregonYouth Challenge, a program designed to help them get their high school degrees and learn valuable life skills.

Adam is passionate about story-telling, and is always striving to find new and engaging ways to make stories memorable for viewers. Adam has also worked in Green Bay,Wisconsin and Rochester, Minnesota.

In his spare time, Adam is a huge craft beer fan (even though he says nerd), and is looking forward to sampling the growing central Ohio beer scene.

Adam lives in Columbus with his wife Jackie, their daughter Sylvie, and their Chihuahua, Mia.

Adam Slinger - Anchor

Adam Slinger anchors the weekend edition of "Good Day Columbus."

Adam returned home to Columbus and ABC6/FOX28 in September, 2013.

An Emmy award-winning reporter, Adam has previously worked in Phoenix, Oklahoma City and Beaumont, Texas.

Before making the leap in front of the camera, Adam worked behind the scenes at the weekend edition of NBC's "Today." At 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, he produced and booked exclusive guests for the morning program and assisted in the production of several NBC News Special Reports, including the space shuttle Columbia disaster, Operation: Iraqi Freedom and the capture of Saddam Hussein.

Adam has a bachelor's degree from New York University where he studied politics and American history. He also spent several months in London, England studying Middle Eastern politics and the British media.

Originally from Dublin, Adam and his wife have two children.

Alissa Henry - Reporter

Alissa Henry is a feature reporter for Good Day Columbus Weekends on ABC 6 and FOX 28, the CW Star on CW Columbus and a lifestyle correspondent on Fox 28’s Good Day Marketplace.

Born and raised right here in Columbus, Alissa feels privileged to be working in her hometown at her favorite TV station.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a certificate in Political Communication. While at OU, she interned at both CNN and Fox News Channel and worked as a political correspondent for Washington and’s “YouthVote ’08”.

Prior to joining ABC6/Fox28/CW Columbus, she was the Managing Editor for a daily webzine for three years. Afterward, she was the social media manager and photographer for Mayor Michael B. Coleman's (successful) re-election campaign. When that campaign ended, she was a freelance writer for multiple outlets and her topics included personal finance, celebrity news and current events.

Alissa enjoys shopping, reading, running, community outreach, and all things pink. When she's not working, you can find her enjoying inexpensive activities around Columbus with her husband Joe... and tweeting about it.

Andrew Michael - Meteorologist

Andrew Michael is the weekend meteorologist/science reporter for ABC 6/FOX 28 News.

Andrew is a member of the American Meteorological Society, and has been designated with that organization's Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval. He joined ABC 6/FOX 28 in 2012 from our sister stations in Dayton: WKEF and WRGT. He has had a love for the weather since he was three years old, when his father tried to get him to say Cumulonimbus (a thunderstorm cloud) while watching storms roll in to their western Ohio farm.

Andrew received his degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University and is very excited to be back in Columbus to cheer on his Buckeyes. His love for OSU is so great; he was even married on campus to his wife, Dawn. The couple has a dog named Buckeye.  Total disclaimer and coincidence: Andrew's middle name at birth was Buck.  Doesn't get much more central Ohio than that!

When he's not working, Andrew loves to rebuild and ride mopeds and motorcycles.

Andrew Buck Michael - Meteorologist

Andrew Buck Michael is a meteorologist for Good Day Columbus.

WTTE FOX28 :: News Team - Ben Garbarek

Ben Garbarek - Reporter

Ben Garbarek is no stranger to Ohio, and is excited to be reporting in Columbus.

Ben is a multi-media journalist for ABC 6/FOX 28.  He got his start working in Owensboro, KY, working out of a bureau for a station in nearby Evansville, IN.  That's where he learned to be flexible and self-sufficient, shooting his own video and editing his own stories.  Ben moved from there to Richmond, VA.  His work has been featured on the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, Fox News, and MSNBC.

Ben is thrilled to be back in Ohio.  He graduated from Miami University in Oxford with degrees in journalism and political science.  He also has plenty of ties to Columbus -- his mom graduated from Hilliard High School, his grandfather taught at Ohio State, and his parents were married in Worthington.

Ben was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs.  While not at work, he's rooting for the Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks.  He's an avid runner, accomplished singer, and tennis player.

WTTE FOX28 :: News Team - Bill Kelly

Bill Kelly - Chief Meteorologist

Bill Kelly is the Chief Meteorologist for ABC 6/FOX 28. His career has taken him to various cities across the country, including Sacramento, Phoenix, and Cincinnati, and now brings him to Ohio's capital city.

"I can't tell you how excited I am to be back in the Midwest," Bill says. "The Columbus area is a fantastic place to raise a family!"

Bill's love for weather began as a child living in Ypsilanti, Mi. He can still recall the nights spent in the basement while severe weather struck outside. One night in particular brought the tornado sirens (as well as panicking parents) and nearby tornado damage. Even today, more than 30 years later, he still remembers the excitement of that event and wanting to go up and out, rather than stay in and down.

Bill graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a degree in Broadcast News communications/Meteorology minor. He completed the two year Broadcast Meteorology program from Mississippi State University and has been an active, certified member with the National Weather Association for the past 13 years.  He's received 4 Emmy awards, 4 AP awards for Best Weather/Anchor in Ohio, and was voted Best Weathercaster in both Columbus Monthly and Phoenix Magazine.  He has also made guest appearances 12 times on ABCs Good Morning America and 4 times on World News Tonight.

"Weather is my absolute passion, and I've always wanted to be a television Meteorologist," Bill says. "I feel so incredibly lucky to be doing what I love for a living!"

When he isn't forecasting weather for you on ABC 6/FOX 28, you will find Bill spending time with his wife and daughter.  He loves the outdoors -- camping, hiking, golfing, skiing, snowboard, etc. He is a big fan of music, and plays the piano, as well as the guitar. He also enjoys public speaking and is always open to hosting events, especially those that involve local charities.

Bob brings with him more than two decades of anchoring and news experience. Prior to Columbus, he anchored the news at KUSA in Denver and WFTS in Tampa.

Bob loves to get out from behind the news desk whenever he can. Bob's an award winning storyteller, who loves to shoot and edit video too, often with his own equipment. Bob's had many memorable moments in his 32 year broadcasting career, reporting from big weather stories like major hurricanes, tornadoes and blizzards, tragedies like the Oklahoma City Bombing, human dramas like Elian Gonzalez and political events including the 2008 Democratic National Convention and the 2000 Florida recount.

Bob's critically acclaimed 'Tampa Bay Treasures' series , profiled little known historical and cultural gems in Florida and won numerous awards. Life and news broadcasting has taken Bob from Northern British Columbia, to Central Florida, to the Colorado Rockies and many fascinating places in between. Now, he's thrilled to be living in Central Ohio and for the opportunity to discover it's treasures and report it's stories.

In his spare time, Bob likes home improvement, reading, collecting music, photography and cooking. He's an avid triathlete, mountain biker and skier (currently in search of mountains). Bob follows international soccer closely. His favorite teams are Arsenal FC and the Columbus Crew.Among his favorite movies include Once, Cinema Paradiso, Out of Africa and 'Apocalypse Now. Brooks Jarosz - Reporter

Brooks Jarosz is an investigative reporter with a passion to make a difference, spark change and get people talking.

He joined WSYX ABC 6 in July 2013, working to follow your money and expose wrongdoing as the Waste Watch reporter.

Jarosz came from one capital city to another, working as an anchor, reporter, producer and multimedia journalist at WSAZ NewsChannel 3 in Charleston, West Virginia for nearly four years. He covered national stories including a major gas pipeline explosion, the Upper Big Branch Mine Disaster and numerous severe weather outbreaks. He earned the title Breaking News Machine and was recognized for his investigative and in-depth reports.

A proud honors graduate from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, Jarosz got his start at WOUB-TV in Athens, Ohio. He founded and served as executive producer of an in-depth news program. He also anchored and reported there for more than three years.

In 2008, Jarosz earned a prestigious Carnegie Fellowship with the Brian Ross Investigative Unit at ABC News. He contributed to several investigative segments airing on GMA, 20/20 and Nightline.

Jarosz grew up in Toledo where most of his family still lives. Hes excited to be back in his home state.

Hes a former rowing coach, D.J. and singer. He loves food, shows and outdoor events and enjoys discovering Columbus.

Most recently, Cameron joined FOX 28's Good Day Marketplace as a lifestyle correspondent.

Cameron was born in Osaka, Japan, grew up in Southern California from age 7, moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2005 and currently resides in Canal Winchester with his wife, Katie. He graduated from Valor Christian College majoring in music. Before joining The CW, ABC 6 and FOX 28, Cameron was the Creative Director for World Harvest Church and Breakthrough Television for five years and has been working in branding, graphic design, animations, media, and television & radio production since 2007.

A world and pop culture aficionado, Cameron also enjoys music, eating every kind of culinary creation imaginable, fitness, extreme sports, festivals, meeting new people, and is obsessed with anything lime green. If it sounds exciting, he wants to jump in, experience it, and creatively share it with everyone.

Chris Vanocur - Senior Reporter

Chris Vanocur is a nationally recognized and respected journalist. He has been honored with America's most prestigious broadcasting awards, including the Alfred I. duPont - Columbia University Silver Baton and the George Foster Peabody Award.

Chris gained national and international attention for uncovering the Olympic bid scandal surrounding Salt Lakes 2002 Winter Games. He was also recently named one of the best state political reporters by “The Fix” political section of the Washington Post.

Chris is also a writer and photographer of some note. He has written numerous articles dealing with wide-ranging topics like the Holocaust, the Vietnam War and baseball's Negro Leagues.

Clay Hall - Sports Director

Clay Hall is the Sports Director for ABC 6/FOX 28.

With 16 years covering central Ohio sports, he's been in press boxes from Tuscon to Raleigh, the Meadowlands to Pasadena, covering the beloved Buckeyes on game day and beyond the game for events like the crowning of two Heisman Award winners: Troy Smith and Eddie George.

Every fall, Clays principal duties include Ohio State football. Viewers can see him on the field for pre-game and post-game coverage on the Emmy Award winning The Football Fever on ABC 6. Whether he's in the Shoe or on the road, Clay sets the scene for one of the greatest traditions in college football.

Hall led ABC-6 and FOX-28 to be named Best Sports Operation in Ohio by the Associated Press for 2010 and 2001. Clay and the sports team won a regional Emmy Award for pre-game coverage of the OSU v Michigan game in 2003.

Clay takes viewers "Beyond the Game" weeknights at 6pm on ABC 6, introducing viewers to athletes and sporting events and special stories of the human spirits triumph over adversity.

Clay is a Central Ohio native; an Upper Arlington High School graduate who used to caddy at the OSU Scarlet Course as a teen. He later won a few bucks from ABC's Brent Musberger in a Buckeye golf outing on the same course.

Even away from work Clay is a sports fan, watching his three sons play and trying to keep up with his loyal black Labrador, Mojo. To this day, his greatest accomplishment remains getting Pat to say "I do" in 1982.

Courtney Khondabi - Anchor

Courtney Khondabi is a Traffic Anchor for Good Day Columbus. Courtney is a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina.

She got her start in broadcasting at WAGT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Augusta, GA. While at WAGT, she started her career as a Reporter and fill-in Anchor.

Courtney eventually moved up the ranks, helping launch the station's first weekend morning newscast as a Weekend Morning Anchor. That's when she found her passion for morning news.

Courtney then moved to West Virginia and worked as the Weekday Morning Anchor at WOWK-TV, the CBS affiliate in Charleston/Huntington.

Courtney loves animals, shopping and considers herself to be a "foodie." She loves exploring Columbus and is very excited to be join the Good Day Columbus, helping viewers avoid traffic troubles and stay safe getting around Central Ohio!

Courtney is married to her high school sweetheart, Joey, and is a proud dog mom to her Maltese, Liam.

First things first ... it's pronounced 'Cha-bah' 'Sue-koast.'

He was born in Transylvania, grew up in Cleveland, and has done a little bit of everything since he joined ABC 6/FOX 28 in August 2014.

When he isn't putting together his "Mobile Minute" or reporting from major events like the GOP Presidential Debate and NBA Finals, he's telling stories from around Central Ohio and doing all things social media as a member of the Web Team.

Having covered sports for the past decade, he especially enjoys contributing to ABC 6's "The Football Fever" and running down the sidelines every Friday night during high school football season.

Csaba's previous stops include Lima, upstate New York and Maine.

Erin Carroll - Meteorologist

Erin joined the ABC 6/FOX 28 First Warning weather team in August 2015. You may recognize her from her decade of on-air forecasting experience right here in Columbus. 

Erin is a proud graduate of Bowling Green State University and holds a Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. She's has worn many hats in television news as a meteorologist, general assignment reporter and producer. Erin's experience with Central Ohio weather patterns means she understands how they affect the local community.

Erin has lived in Central Ohio for more than ten years and has also lived in Cleveland and Akron. Erin and her husband, Shawn, have two girls and love visiting the Metro Parks, the Columbus Zoo and the zillions of original restaurants Columbus has to offer.

Erin enjoys baking, cooking, biking and taking nature hikes. The perfect night out is a great dinner (she doesn't have to cook) and watching a movie.

When asked who her role models are: "It's easy ... my two parents".

James Jackson - Reporter

James Jackson is a Multimedia Journalist at ABC 6/FOX 28. He joined the team in July, 2013.

James comes to central Ohio after working two years in Tampa, Florida. He had spent his entire on-air career in the Sunshine State before moving to Columbus, also living in Pensacola and Tallahassee.

James is a Columbus native and is thrilled to be back home, calling the opportunity a "dream come true."

James received his bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of Cincinnati in 1999, and his master's degree in higher education from Florida State University, with a minor in broadcast journalism from Florida A&M University in 2002.

He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, as well as the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and was selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1998.

In his spare time, James enjoys hanging out with his family and friends, and cooking. He also enjoys following basketball and football, especially his Ohio State Buckeyes! O-H!

Karen Brown - Anchor

Karen Brown is an award-winning journalist who, after spending a decade working as a network correspondent, just wrapped up two years as an Anchor and Reporter at KTVK in Phoenix AZ. She anchored the weekend evening newscasts and filled in anchoring during the week. She also co-hosted a half hour political show called "Politics Unplugged".

As a correspondent for CBS news based out of New York. she covered national and international stories for The Early Show, CBS Evening News, CBS affiliates, CBS Morning News, and Karen also served as a substitute anchor for CBS Up to the Minute, CBS Morning News, and CBS Money Watch

While at KTVK, Karen covered, from the anchor desk and from the field, national stories such as: the VA Medical Scandal, Sedona Wildfires, the Super Bowl, Monsoon flooding, Kayla Mueller, and the Runaway llamas.

While at CBS News Karen was busy traveling the country covering major national stories such as the 2012 Presidential Race, NATO Summit, the Reno Air Races Crash, 2011 Tucson shooting, Cuba, the Texas drought, the Casey Anthony Trial, the Conrad Murray Trial, the 2008 Presidential Race, the White House, Congress, the United Nations, NASA, Wall Street, and the Olympics along with major breaking news stories, including the fall of Lehman Bros., Hurricanes Isaac, Irene and Rita, Midwest Drought, California and Arizona wildfires, and the Mississippi floods.

Karen was born in Mariemont, Ohio and grew up in Orange County California before attending UCLA for a degree in English Literature. She has a 7-year-old daughter, which is why she put away her network suitcases to get back behind a local anchor desk, and spend as much time as possible with her daughter.

The family is rounded out by two rescued pets -- a cat and a dog.

WTTE FOX28 :: News Team - Kristine Frazao

Kristine Frazao - Reporter

Kristine Frazao is an Emmy award winning journalist, with more than a decade of on-air experience.  As the National Correspondent for Sinclair Broadcast Group, Kristine reports on the top political stories of the day along with investigative reports on government waste, fraud and abuse.

Prior to joining the Sinclair news team, Kristine was the White House Correspondent for RT America.  She covered the 2010 and 2012 elections both on the road and in Washington, and anchored nightly newscasts on RT for three years as well.  Also during her time at RT, she reported extensively on the impact of hydraulic fracturing or fracking in Pennsylvania, as well as the tragic rate of teen suicide on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

Kristine was born and raised in San Diego, CA, where she also worked for four years as a general assignment reporter, working for the Fox affiliate (XETV) as well as the NBC affiliate (KNSD) where she received an Emmy for coverage of the Wildfires of 2007.

She got her on-air start working in beautiful Savannah, GA at WJCL/WTGS, where she worked as the political reporter, covering City Council and County Commission.  She also traveled to Gulfport, Mississippi to cover the damage and devastation from Hurricane Katrina.

Kristine loves living in the Washington, DC. area and covering politics. She spends her free time traveling, reading and going on adventures with her black lab , Chomsky.

Kurt Ludlow - Anchor

Veteran journalist Kurt Ludlow is a welcome addition to the ABC 6/FOX 28 News Team. You can catch him anchoring the 5:30PM News alongside Anchor Yolanda Harris on ABC 6 News and reporting on ABC 6 News at 11PM weekdays.

Kurt's on your side working with Tom Sussi and Brooks Jarosz on the ABC 6 Investigators Team. He's spent most of his career covering issues and events making a difference in the lives of Central Ohioans.

Kurt's career in Columbus spans 30 years, earned him numerous awards, including regional Emmy Awards and the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for a ground-breaking documentary titled "Inside the Fire." In it, Kurt takes a captivating look at the dynamics of house fires from the inside out.

A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, Kurt received a law degree from Capital University in Columbus.

Lisa Rantala - Reporter

Lisa Rantala became a proud member of the WSYX/WTTE family in June, 2012.

She was born and raised near Cleveland.  But with close family in the area, she is ready to call Columbus home.

She kept a close eye on state issues while anchoring and crime reporting in Toledo, OH.  However, Lisa also learned to kick out a southern drawl while reporting in Charlotte, NC and learned to appreciate true Tex-Mex while reporting in Laredo and San Antonio, TX.  

Lisa has been recognized by national publications for breaking major stories.  She was even featured in a Finnish newspaper for talking to Finnish high school students about American journalism during an overseas visit to see her father, who grew up in Finland, and has moved back in recent years.

Lisa likes to stay active. She has run in a series of full and half marathons and is ready to hit the Columbus trails.  She loves art, food, and a great festival.  Pass along what you think Columbus' hidden treasures really are.. she doesn't want to miss a thing.

"No news is NOT good news," is a favorite saying of WSYX general assignment reporter Lu Ann Stoia. An Emmy Award winning journalist, Lu Ann has been in the communications business for more than 30 years, and has considerable experience in television and radio.

Lu Ann has a relentless desire to pursue the truth, and a proven track record as a hard-working journalist who goes looking for news stories and investigations that have an impact on our lives. Lu Ann has covered everything from politics, to prison riots, to psychics.

Lu Ann was born in Columbus, attended Granville schools, and graduated with a journalism degree from Ohio University. After having had the opportunity to work in other cities across the nation, Lu Ann knows that central Ohio is a special place to work, raise a family, and enjoy life. Lu Ann is married to Stephen Gammill. They have two children, Jimmy and Jessie Gammill. Their dog Radar is part of the family, too.

Lu Ann has a heart for volunteering and is active in the community. She is on the Board at Stowe Mission on Columbus' South Side and serves on the Salvation Army of Central Ohio's Communications Committee. Lu Ann is a member of Girls with Gears and plans to ride her bicycle in Pelotonia for the second time.  At the risk of sounding nerdy, Lu Ann admits she loves her book club. She's also in New Albany Women's Network and volunteers with the Jeanne McCoy Center for the Arts in New Albany.

Maria Durant - Reporter

Maria Durant is a four time Emmy Award Winning Reporter for ABC 6 and FOX 28 News.

She has also received numerous Associated Press Awards and has been honored with several awards from the Society of Professional Journalists.

She says she's always wanted to be a reporter. When she was a little girl she used to go around the neighborhood interviewing her neighbors. Then she'd send the tape to her grandparents so they could see where they lived. As the daughter of a Military Naval Officer the family moved often... so there were plenty of tapes mailed out.

Maria says she feels very privileged to be able to tell stories and to keep viewers informed about what is happening in their community.

A graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science, little did Maria know she would someday become a news story herself.

In October of 2006 Maria was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.But instead of hiding her diagnosis, Maria decided to share her story in hopes of helping others.

Maria is involved with several cancer organizations ... and as a Filipino she especially wants young Asian American Women to know that it can happen to them. But that early detection is the key.

Maria is also involved with many other community organizations such as the Asian Festival, The Columbus International Program and The National Kidney Foundation,  

Maria came to ABC6 & FOX28 after working in Huntington/Charleston West Virginia.

WTTE FOX28 :: News Team - Marshall McPeek

Marshall McPeek - Meteorologist

Marshall McPeek is a longtime Columbus meteorologist and journalist. He joined the First Warning weather team and Good Day Columbus in September 2013.

Marshall grew up in Central Ohio (in Bucyrus, the Bratwurst Capital of the World) and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University's Honors College with a degree in journalism. He received his meteorology training from Mississippi State University and has earned the American Meteorological Society's prestigious designation as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM #501).

Marshall started his broadcast career in Bucyrus at WBCO-AM/WQEL-FM when he was just 14 years old. Since then, the dinosaurs have disappeared, man has discovered fire, and Marshall has worked for stations in Toronto, Cleveland, Southern Illinois, Toledo, and Columbus. Many Central Ohio viewers may remember his 11-year stint co-hosting the weekend-morning broadcasts on, ahem, another local station. He came to ABC6/FOX28 after running off to Key West, Florida, where he founded a successful marketing business.

When he's not staring at the radar or being mesmerized by passing clouds, Marshall enjoys exploring the back roads of Central Ohio and meeting the interesting people who make this one of the most fascinating places in the country. He loves to travel and looks forward to meeting you on his excursions!

Michele Newell - Reporter

Michele Newell joined the ABC6/FOX28 news team in August 2014 as a multimedia journalist.

Originally from Pittsburgh, she is thrilled to experience all Columbus has to offer.

Michele previously produced and wrote for KDKA radio and TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She left Pittsburgh to report in Steubenville, Ohio.

Michele covered the aftermath of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In scorching temperatures, she lugged around a camera on the back of an old pickup truck documenting some of the hardest hit areas.

Michele studied at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has a Degree in Communications Media.

In her spare time, she loves mentoring young women and spending time with her family. She is a member of the Columbus Urban League of Young Professionals.

You can watch her reports weekdays at 5 and 6PM  on ABC 6 News. You can also catch her at the crack of dawn on the weekend edition of Good Day Columbus.

Mike Kilburn - Reporter

"Mobile Trak" Mike can be found giving viewers a street level look at Central Ohio's roadways; in addition to taking you to the heart of breaking news. Mike is a Columbus native, who then moved to Dayton to pursue a degree in criminal justice at the University of Dayton. He became a police officer in 1977 in the Dayton area .  

After furthering his education, Mikehe became a police basic instructor. It was at that time he got his start in television on the international network L.E.T.N. (Law Enforcement Television Network), covering all types of law enforcement-related stories, ranging from technology to officer safety.

Mike wrote and taught a Police and Media Relations course to mid-level supervisors at the state academy in London, Ohio.

Mike remains an active police officer today serving with Port Clinton, Ohio, and Ottawa County Sheriff's Dept. He works street patrol in the city of Port Clinton and boat patrol guarding the northern border of the U.S. with the N.B.I. (North Border Initiative) program of U.S. Homeland Security.

Mike thinks combining a law enforcement background with reporting gives him a unique perspective on news.


"I really enjoy keeping an eye on things from mobile trak. Being a Police officer I can quickly access how bad an incident is and report it to our viewers."

He has spent more then 15 years in the Columbus television and Radio market. Mike has written and performed in numerous commercials and infomercials. He currently serves as Executive Producer for his own weekly TV show, Out n About Columbus -- -- airing on ABC Sundays at 11:30 a.m. In his free time, Mike enjoys boating, motorcycling and snow skiing.

Mike McCarthy - Reporter

Mike McCarthy is an award-winning General Assignment reporter with ABC 6 FOX 28. He joined the news team in March 2010. You can see his reports on Good Day, Columbus.

Originally from Marysville, he was thrilled to return to Central Ohio. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, where he was named Outstanding Graduating Senior in Broadcast News. Mike spent the next three years working as a reporter for WVLT Volunteer TV in Knoxville, TN.

Mike has won five Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Awards. The Ohio Associated Press named "Best TV Reporter" in 2012. He's also ranked as one of the top multimedia journalist nationwide by the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA).

Mike's reports have also been featured on Fox News, CNN, and HLN.

Previously, he worked as an anchor, reporter, and producer at WOUB in Athens, Ohio. He also managed the production of the station's in-depth series. His other broadcast experience includes an internship at NBC's "Today." He is also a former intern at ABC 6 On Your Side.

Mike is an amateur magician, an avid musical theater fan, and movie buff.

He lives in Dublin with his wife and son.

Pete Scalia - Anchor

Pete Scalia anchors ABC6 this Morning and Good Day Columbus on FOX 28. A Cincinnati native (and proud graduate of Ohio University) Pete's first gig in TV was working behind the scenes (sorting scripts and getting coffee) at WLWT in Cincinnati -- where he later worked as morning traffic reporter.

Pete has also worked as editor of "Cincinnati Profile" -- an online lifestyle magazine for men in Greater Cincinnati; and most recently anchored four hours of news every morning at our sister stations WKEF (ABC 22) and WRGT (FOX 45) in Dayton, OH.

An avid singer and keyboardist, Pete has also toured the country playing music -- and somehow survived a summer on the road with classic rock legends Bad Company and Ted Nugent. He currently plays in the party band "Snidely Whiplash" with his dad, Tony.

A fan of classic and collectible cars, Pete and his wife, Amy, are excited to call Columbus home and look forward to exploring the city and surrounding areas with their crazy Vizsla, Dino.

Phil Kelly - Meteorologist

Phil was born and raised in Columbus, and is a proud graduate of Otterbein University.

If you grew up in Columbus in the 90s, you may remember Phil from his first television job as Kids Club host at WWHO. While there, Phil won 4 Emmys for his work hosting and producing the show.

Next, Phil moved to South Bend, IN where he was the morning weather anchor and co-host of "Wake-Up" on WSJV. After returning to Columbus, Phil eventually stepped away from television to open his own business, which he still runs today.

He returned to TV in 2010 as a fill-in meteorologist here at WSYX/WTTE. Now, with his permanent home as weekend morning meteorologist, Phil couldn't be happier! In his free time, Phil enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and son.

Rob Wells - Reporter

You'll find Rob Wells reporting weekdays on ABC 6 News at 5PM, 6PM and 11PM. He's also a welcome addition to FOX 28 News at 10PM, too!

Prior to joining ABC 6/FOX 28, Rob reported in Sarasota, Fla.; Dayton, Youngstown, Zanesville and Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Rob got his first chance to be on-air while interning at FOX 28. He actually interned and reported for a weekly public affairs program.

Before that, Rob had the chance to work with ABC 6 as part of a term paper he was writing in high school. He says he got to come in and interview former news anchor Michelle Gailiun.

"I've never forgot her kindness," he says.

Rob's hometown is Hilliard, with his grandparents being the original publisher, editor and owners of The Hilliard Northwest News. It was the first suburban weekly publication in Central Ohio.

Rob's a graduate of Hilliard High School and a scarlet-and-gray Buckeye (O-H ... !), as well. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Communications from The Ohio State University.

When not reporting, Rob likes to travel, ski, exercise, garden and spend time with his family and friends.

Shawn Ireland - Anchor

Shawn Ireland's voice and face have been familiar to Central Ohioans for many years. In fact, Shawn has been heard on different Columbus area radio stations for more than 26 years, aside from a 2 year stint on an all-female morning show in San Diego, most of her broadcast journey has been spent entertaining radio listeners and television viewers throughout Central Ohio. 

When she is not entertaining and informing Good Day Columbus viewers, she is busy pioneering her own entertainment enterprise called  The Shawn Ireland Show (S.I.S.)- found at S.I.S. is a multi-media source for women that consists of a weekly 2-hour, live radio show, a daily 30 minute podcast, a social and philanthropic women's group called The S.I.S. Club, and a charitable arm The S.I.S. Club Care Corps which promotes women's and children's causes. She is especially proud of the S.I.S. program she founded to promote self-esteem in middle school girls throughout Central Ohio entitled Beauty's On The Inside.

Shawn is also a devoted, busy, proud, single mom with a 20 year old son and a 16 year old daughter. Shawn also says she owns two lovable dogs of very questionable intelligence! Shawn loves starting her days with the Good Day Columbus viewers!

Sheila Gray - Special Correspondent

Special Correspondent Sheila Gray reports on issues affecting women and families in Sinclair Broadcast Groups Family 411 reports.

Sheila is a native of Columbus, Ohio and studied at the prestigious Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

She began her career in Charleston, West Virginia, eventually being named the 6 & 11 p.m. anchor at WSAZ-TV.  She was recognized by the West Virginia Associated Press for her reporting.

Sheilas next stop was Cincinnati, Ohio, where she co-hosted the Fox 19 Morning News.

She is happy that her alarm is no longer sounding at 2:30 a.m. and is looking forward to this new chapter in her career, and a new broadcasting family with Sinclair.

Sheila and her husband Ric are the parents of four children, Kasey, Kari, Katie, and Kari.

Steve Levine - Reporter

Steve Levine caught the news bug as a young child growing up in Cleveland Heights, when he tagged along with his grandmother and uncle who loved to speed to the scene of breaking news stories they heard on their police scanner.

A graduate of Ohio University, Steve began his career in Zanesville, and also worked in West Virginia, New York state, and Maryland.

Following the September 11th terrorist attacks Steve reported live just blocks from Ground Zero. He also reported live from outside Lucasville Prison during the 1993 inmate riots.

Steve's reporting has led to several international recalls,crooked contractors being sent to prison, and hundreds of thousands of dollars returned to ripped off consumers. His work has also led to changes in state law.

Steve's received The Edward R Murrow Award and numerous Associated Press Awards for investigative reporting, enterprise reporting, spot news, and continuing coverage of an issue. He most recently was honored by the International Association of Fire Fighters, for an investigation on Baltimore's Critical Alert system.

He is active with The National Center For Missing And Exploited Children and the Special Olympics. Steve lives in Dublin, with his wife Sharon.

Tara Morgan - Reporter

Tara Morgan joined WSYX news as a general assignment reporter in 2012. 

Tara's interest in covering the news started when she was a teenager. She was influenced by her parents, who always stay on top of local and national news headlines.

Tara graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BFA in broadcast journalism, working her way through college as a country music DJ.

While Tara enjoyed her time on the radio, it didn't steer Tara away from her dream of working in television news. She got her feet wet in Houston, where she worked behind the scenes on the assignment desk and as a producer. Her first on-air gig was in Corpus Christi, Texas, where her parents still live.

Tara came to Columbus from Richmond, VA, where she covered memorable stories like the D.C. Sniper. While in Richmond, Tara also had an unusual run in with a camel that decided to nibble on her hair with the camera rolling!

While away from work, Tara loves to bake cupcakes -- and of course, eat them too! She even took a cake decorating course to add some pizazz to her sweet treats.

Tara also likes to run, and has competed in one marathon, several half marathons, and numerous 10k's.

Tara has a tuxedo cat named Pickles that demands her attention at home!

Terri Sullivan - Anchor

Terri Sullivan is a two-time Emmy award winner with a passion for news. Terri thrives on getting news first, fast and accurate. She anchors ABC 6 News at 6 pm and 11 pm and Fox 28 News at 10 pm each weekend. Terri also shows off her talents for asking the tough questions and getting the stories first when she reports during the week.

Terri is dedicated to the Central Ohio community, volunteering at Our Lady of Guadalupe Center, a food pantry serving the Hispanic community in Central Ohio. For more than a decade Terri has co-hosted the Jerry Lewis Labor Day MDA telethon, helping to raise more than a million dollars for Central Ohioans battling muscular diseases. She's been honored by Komen Columbus Race For The Cure for "going the extra mile" in the fight against breast cancer. Terri has worked tirelessly for the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, as honorary chairperson for their annual "Swim For Diabetes." She's also been involved with the Homeless Families Foundation and the Central Ohio Radio Reading Service, an audio service for the blind. Terri is a loyal walker for "Elijah's Extreme Team" in the annual Buddy Walk that supports the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio.

Terri is also a big supporter of area schools. She's been honored with the prestigious 2009 "Friend of Education" award for her volunteer work at Hilliard Davidson High School. She's also involved with the Davidson Drama Boosters, which supports the school's award-winning theatre program, and the Bishop Watterson High School Hockey Team.

Terri grew up in Rockland County, just outside New York City, and always raced her sisters to get first crack at the morning paper to find out what was going on. She attended Boston University on a full swimming scholarship, graduating with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

She got her start at WRKL-AM, an award-winning radio news team in New York state. She has worked at NBC News and CNN in New York. At WREX-TV in Rockford, Illinois, she was honored with the Silver Dome Award for Superior Broadcast Achievement.

Terri lives in Columbus with her husband, Mike, and their two active children. She enjoys working out, reading, watching crime shows on TV and her dog, Archie. When not at work Terri can usually be found in her car driving to hockey or basketball practice, play practice, voice lessons, golf match, school...wave when you see her drive by!

Tom Bosco - Reporter

Tom Bosco is an award-winning broadcast journalist who can be seen both in front of and behind the camera.

As one of ABC 6/FOX 28's "multi-media journalists," Tom is a "one man band," both shooting his own stories and presenting them on-air.

A general assignment reporter based in Delaware County, Tom specializes in telling stories in Delaware, Marion, and points north of Columbus, although you may see him all over our region.

"I enjoy the mobility and speed that being an 'MMJ' affords me," he says. "I want to hear about and tell the stories that are important to you."

Tom has reported news on radio and television in Toledo, Cincinnati, Dayton and Nelsonville. He won numerous awards throughout his career.

Tom was nominated for regional Emmy award in 2012 for his work as a multi-media journalist and was named Best Reporter by the Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters Association in 2004. He served as OAPB president in 2006, and also contributed reports on the priest sexual abuse scandal to the Academy Award-nominated documentary film "Twist of Faith."

Tom is a proud graduate of Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, but he got more than a great education at Ohio University. He met his wife, Gina, at Ohio University. Tom likes to read, listen to music (everything from jazz to rock to Frank Sinatra), enjoys cooking on the grill and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Tom Sussi - Reporter

Tom has worked professionally in newspaper, radio and television for more than two decades. His consumer and investigative reports have earned him numerous awards over the years including Emmys in both Michigan and Ohio.

Tom joined WSYX in 2010 after working four years for WOFL in Orlando. He has also worked in Detroit and Pittsburgh.

Before Tom crossed over into television news, he was a sports writer for his hometown newspaper in Flint, Michigan. He also hosted several live call-in sports talk radio shows.

A graduate of Michigan State University, Tom has degrees in both broadcasting communications and criminal justice.

WTTE FOX28 :: News Team - Yolanda Harris

Yolanda Harris - Anchor

Yolanda Harris anchors the news each weeknight on ABC 6 at 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00 p.m., and on FOX 28 News at 10:00.

Born and raised in Central Ohio, Yolanda considers the opportunity to continue her career in her hometown a privilege.

Yolanda has been featured among "Who's Who In Black Columbus."  She is a "Wall of Fame" inductee at her alma mater, Gahanna Lincoln High School. Among other honors throughout her television news career, Yolanda received an Emmy for Best Entertainment Program in 2005 as host of Pepsi's "Gimme The Mike, Columbus!"

Yolanda joined FOX 28 in 1996 as a reporter.  Prior to that, she was a correspondent for "This Week" Newsmagazine on FOX 28 and a host for the FOX 28 Kids Club and Take 1! Yolanda says she still gets questions about her days as a Kids Club host. The top question? "Where's your twin?" She wants you to know that although she does have a sister, she's not a twin.

Early in her career, she worked as a reporter and photographer for the former Columbus Call & Post newspaper, a weekly publication focusing on the local African-American community. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Bowling Green State University.

Yolanda gives a great deal of time to the Columbus community. She supports The Gahanna-Jefferson Education Foundation, The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Toys for Tots, The American Red Cross, Lifecare Alliance, and The Pelotonia to name a few. Yolanda enjoys mentoring high school and college students interested in the field of broadcast journalism.

Yolanda spends her free time spoiling her chihuahua Biscuit Elizabeth Taylor, as well as her niece and two nephews. She's a loyal viewer of tabloid magazines. She loves watching real crime TV programs, and took up boxing for fitness and loves it!
