Comment: Too bad there is not the option of "all of the above". It's a lot in how the parents buy the things that are in the home too. Buy junk kids eat junk. from Grove City, Oh by Kathy
Comment: Discusting. We're the only country with this problem to this degree. A mixture of laziness, food options at dinner, & gluttony is sad for these kids. from Columbus, Ohio by Steve
Comment: Small children watch alot of television and end up not getting any excercise, and add that to their fat and sugar intake and you have an obese child. from Columbus, Ohio by William B.
Comment: Kids have so much
technology on their hands
they forget about playing
basketball OUTSIDE they
could play it on their phone,
laptop, Gameboy, PS3, Xbox.
Plus its safer inside the house
than outside. So many
creeps that you have to look
out for!! from Canal Winchester, Ohio by Mindy
Comment: Kids aren't encouraged to get up and play. With computers, TV, and video games are lives are more sedentary than in the past. Add in unsafe neighborhoods and cuts in gym class and affordable sports and you have porky kids and adults! from Columbus, OH by Gia
Comment: Oh my god their were OBESE kids growing up!!!!!!!!!! There is not one person that can say their were none.. genetic have a lot to do with it.Look at the chemicals in the food we eat and in the air. The restaurant industry is not to blame. I feel kids play to many video game and spend time watching TV. families don't spend time together like we did back when I was younger. Kids now fend for themselves. They don't exercise like they should I do believe that. But people can not be quick to judge Obese people because karma is a bitch......... Kudos to those who try to keep in shape but u cant judge others without know all the circumstances. That is wrong........... from Grand Junction, Colorado by nanette
Comment: Society has changed, and we got used to it. When I was a child children were outside playing all day long with no fears of being kidnapped or assaulted. Moms didn't have to work and they stayed home and were able to cook nutritious food for their family. Todays Moms have to work-- there is no choice. Most meals today are fast food or already prepared meals that are purchase in the market place. from Delaware, Ohio by Beverly
